Following the acquihire late last year by Shopify and some strong praise for the Remix framework via Twitter, I clocked it as a high priority for my next learning endeavour. I started my software journey with Ruby and Rails so I have a penchant for the opinionated, and fittingly I felt like Remix deserved a bit of my attention. I spent a bit of time taking Remix for a spin, and decided to consolidate some of my thoughts.

In the past 10 years, web and development technology has advanced so much. We’ve seen huge advances in Javascript (phew) and other languages, the unbelievable spread of social media, and some decentralization technologies with massive potential (NFT, DAO, Blockchain).
Proportionally, the breadth and efficacy/efficiency of tools one may use to learn about these technologies has exploded. While in the past there may have been some significant barriers of entry to the tech world, the only two resources someone needs now are -time- and -motivation-.
